The modern and saucy sitcom Catherine describes the day-to-day ups and downs, doubts and career troubles of a thirty-something woman. A man-eater who is convinced of the infallibility of her charms, Catherine is always on the lookout for a new conquest. At once naïve and manipulative, she has a knack for concocting the most outlandish plots and getting everyone around her in on the action. The characters in Catherine—far from being caricatures—ring absolutely true, and the way they handle the situations that arise produces a thoroughly comic effect that leaves us laughing. Two of the sitcom’s actresses (Sylvie Moreau and Dominique Michel) received best performance awards at the 2001 Gémeaux. Cast:
